Submission information

Ekonomia now accepts electronic submissions only. Please e-mail a PDF or Word file to ekonomia@ucy.ac.cy.

Ekonomia covers all areas of economics and econometrics, both theoretical and applied. Survey articles and book reviews are welcome. Manuscripts must be in English (using UK spelling) and be submitted electronically (in either Word or PDF format) to the address ekonomia@ucy.ac.cy. An abstract of approximately 100 words as well as the appropriate Journal of Economic Literature classification numbers and keywords should be included. Affiliations and acknowledgements should appear as a footnote at the bottom of the first page, should be preceded by an asterisk, should indicate the corresponding author, and include all the authorsí contact details including mailing address, postal code, telephone number and email. Footnotes should be labelled NOTES and placed at the end of the main text. Bibliographies should be labelled REFERENCES and should be listed alphabetically at the end of the document. Appendices should appear after the notes but before the references. Wherever possible, authors are encouraged to put the mathematical details of their argument in an appendix.

Authors should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) style unless otherwise directed (see http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/08/ for more detailed information on the use of APA style in referencing). For example:

Olivetti, C. and Petrongolo, B. (2008). Unequal pay or unequal employment? A cross-country analysis of gender gaps. Journal of Labor Economics, 26(4), 621-654.

Wooldridge, J. (2002). Econometric analysis of cross section and panel data. Cambridge, MA, and London, England: The MIT Press.

In the text itself, these should be cited in one of the following formats:

Olivetti and Petrongolo (2008) or (Olivetti and Petrongolo 2008, p. 624).

Accepted articles should be produced in Microsoft Word using 10 point Times New Roman and Symbol fonts only. Figures and graphs should be produced in Microsoft Excel or Adobe Illustrator in black-and-white with no shading or fill. The title should be placed separately within the text of the paper. The correctly-sized figures may be included within the document, but the original editable file should be submitted separately. Figures should be at your programís maximum resolution at no more than 11.7 x 16 cm (portrait mode).

All tables should be prepared using Wordís table formatting in Times New Roman font at no smaller than 8 point. The only lines that should be used are under the table title, under headings and at the end of the table (but before any notes). The table must be formatted to fit within the dimensions of a journal page of 11.8 x 17.5 cm. The journal prefers the portrait format where possible.

Tables and figures should be placed soon after reference to them is first made.

Equations should be prepared using Mathtype or Wordís equation editor.

The editors reserve the right to make grammatical and stylistic changes in the interests of clarity and for consistency of the journal style.

Copyright must be transferred to Ekonomia. The journal does not provide offprints but authors will receive five copies of the relevant issue.
